Xiaomi has officially expanded its popular lineup with the launch of the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max and Redmi Note 17 Pro in India. Aiming squarely at the competitive premium segment, these new releases bring major hardware upgrades, headlined by massive battery capacities and robust durability ratings.

What Happened

The newly unveiled devices share a large 6.83-inch 1.5K flat AMOLED display, boasting a 120Hz refresh rate and an impressive 3,500 nits of peak brightness. Both models feature Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 protection, dual stereo speakers, and comprehensive IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K ratings for dust and water resistance.

Under the hood, the performance relies on Qualcomm's silicon. The Pro Max model runs on the Snapdragon 6 Gen 5 processor paired with up to 12GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB of storage. Meanwhile, the standard Pro variant is powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4 chip with 8GB of RAM. Both smartphones operate on HyperOS 3, built on Android 16, and promise long-term software support with 4 years of OS upgrades and 6 years of security patches.

Battery and Camera Highlights

Power capacity stands out as the most striking feature of this release cycle.

• Redmi Note 17 Pro: Features a slightly smaller, yet substantial, 9,000 mAh battery supporting 67W fast charging.

For photography, both models house a 50-megapixel main sensor with Optical Image Stabilization (OIS) alongside an 8-megapixel ultrawide lens. For selfies, the Pro Max steps up with a 32-megapixel front camera, while the Pro model comes equipped with a 16-megapixel shooter.

Pricing and Availability

The Redmi Note 17 Pro starts at ₹36,999 for the 8GB/128GB variant, with the 8GB/256GB model priced at ₹39,999. It will go on sale starting September 17.

The higher-tier Redmi Note 17 Pro Max begins at ₹49,999 for the 8GB/256GB version, scaling up to ₹55,999 for the 12GB/256GB configuration, with its official sales kicking off on September 23. Both devices will be available via Amazon, Xiaomi's official retail channels, and Mi stores.
