Fresh off claiming the prestigious Paul Morgan Medal as the club's player of the year, the towering forward addressed his playing future and made it clear where his loyalties lie.

Willison enjoyed a standout campaign that culminated in him taking home Brisbane’s top individual honor on Monday night. He also secured the Shane Webcke Award as the team's best forward, cementing his status as one of the club's most important assets.
Despite not being signed past the 2027 season, Willison addressed his contract status publicly during media opportunities at the event. When directly asked if he wanted to extend his stay with the Broncos, his response left little room for doubt.
"Definitely," Willison said. "My daughter was born in Brisbane, so I would love to stay here and bring my family up here in Brisbane. I love the culture. Between the boys and the staff, we have some of the best connection and the best culture."

The commitment comes at a crucial time for the Broncos. Earlier, the club was rocked when star prop Payne Haas inked a deal with the Rabbitohs. Because Willison recently transitioned to new management under Ahmad Merhi—the same agent who represents Haas—rumors quickly circulated that the young forward might look elsewhere.
However, Willison's latest comments have largely put those fears to rest. By capturing the Paul Morgan Medal, he became the first player other than Haas or Patrick Carrigan to win the award since 2018, signaling that he is ready to step into a primary leadership role in the Broncos' engine room.

"Hopefully it’s not too much longer [until a new contract is signed]," Willison noted. "I am trying to celebrate tonight, and then we will move forward from there. I’m hoping my future is here at the Broncos, so I’m not worried too much."
