What Happened
Georgia prosecutors are pushing forward with legal proceedings involving Kroy "KJ" Biermann Jr., the 15-year-old son of former Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kim Zolciak and former NFL player Kroy Biermann.
According to court documents obtained by CBS News Atlanta, prosecutors filed an emergency motion requesting permission to conduct forensic interviews with minor children. The state indicated it has a "good faith basis for concern regarding additional minors" connected to the investigation. Court filings also suggest that certain video evidence described as explicit in nature should be reviewed under seal.
The Charges and Bond Conditions
The teenager was arrested in Alpharetta in August following an alleged incident investigators state took place on April 23, 2026. A grand jury subsequently indicted him on seven felony counts, including aggravated child molestation, aggravated sexual battery, aggravated sodomy, and false imprisonment involving a child under 16.
A Fulton County Superior Court judge recently granted Biermann a $200,000 bond. While awaiting his release from the Metro Regional Youth Detention Center, strict conditions have been set:
- He must surrender his passport.
- Upon release, he must reside at his mother's home and attend school virtually.
- He will be placed under electronic monitoring with a strict ban on cellphones and social media.
- He is completely barred from contacting the alleged victim, her family, or anyone aged 16 or younger.
Family's Response and Defense
Following the arrest, Kim Zolciak released a statement to Us Weekly strongly defending her son and calling the allegations "nothing short of reckless and deeply troubling."
According to Zolciak, her son "categorically denies" the accusations. She added that he voluntarily passed a polygraph examination and that an independent physical examination yielded no DNA matching her son.
The high-profile legal battle continues to unfold as defense and prosecution teams navigate the preliminary evidence and upcoming court dates.
