The cozy world of Die Rosenheim-Cops is bracing for its biggest change yet. After more than two decades of solving crimes with Bavarian charm, one of the show’s most iconic figures is stepping down. Marisa Burger, who has played the beloved secretary Miriam Stockl (popularly known as "Frau Stockl") since the very first episode, is officially leaving the hit ZDF series.

Her final episode is scheduled to air on November 24, 2026, marking the end of an era during the show's 26th season.

The Emotional Farewell of Frau Stockl

The news of Burger’s departure has hit both fans and her long-term colleagues hard. Co-star Dieter Fischer, who plays Detective Anton Stadler, paid tribute to her immense impact on the program, noting that Burger decisively shaped the series and was central to its enduring success.

According to the cast, the atmosphere on set during her final scenes was incredibly heavy. Max Müller, who plays Michi Mohr, recently shared details about the exit, revealing that the entire production team and cast had to fight back tears during their final moments filming together.

The Secret Behind Stadler's Quirks

While the ensemble prepares for life without Frau Stockl, Dieter Fischer also shared insights into his own character, Anton Stadler, whom he has portrayed since 2011. Fischer revealed that one of Stadler's most famous traits—his abrupt "Stadler Ende" (Stadler out) telephone sign-off—was actually his own improvisation.

Fischer introduced the line to the character years ago, and the writers loved it so much they integrated it permanently into the scripts. According to the actor, the blunt sign-off perfectly captures Stadler’s personality: he simply does not care how he comes across to other people.

Why the "Minimal-Invasive" Formula Works

Despite the heavy emotional toll of losing a core cast member, the ongoing appeal of Die Rosenheim-Cops lies in its lighthearted, family-friendly formula. Fischer describes the series’ approach to crime solving as "minimal-invasive."

While each episode begins with a homicide, the actual investigation is far from dark or gory. The mystery is solved almost on the side, leaving plenty of room for humor, quirky personal subplots, and the warm chemistry of the ensemble. This unique blend has turned the series into a rare multi-generational favorite where the cast's genuine off-screen friendship translates directly onto the screen.
