What Happened
BBC One and BBC iPlayer have officially revealed the star-studded line-up and grueling route for the fourth series of Celebrity Race Across The World. Four new pairs of famous faces are ditching their smartphones, luxury hotels, and credit cards to tackle an epic 7,500 km trek across Southeast Asia and down to Australia.
Produced by Studio Lambert, the upcoming six-part series promises to be the most demanding installment of the BAFTA-winning format yet. Contestants will travel with only a map, local transport, the kindness of strangers, and a strict budget equivalent to just £26 per person a day.
The 2026 Celebrity Line-Up
This year's roster features a diverse mix of musicians, broadcasters, and rising stars ready to test their limits:
- Ella Eyre & Nana: The Brit award-winning singer-songwriter takes on the adventure alongside her childhood friend.
- Jeff Stelling & Matt: The veteran sports broadcaster is teaming up with his son for the ultimate endurance test.
- Princess Andre & Junior Andre: The high-profile influencer and her musician brother are stepping away from home comforts to compete.
- Sam Ryder & Kaz: The acclaimed singer-songwriter brings along his best friend and tour manager.
The Grueling Route to Melbourne
The competition kicks off in Kuching, located in the Malaysian state of Sarawak in North West Borneo. Acting as the gateway to the island's vast wilderness, this starting point sets the tone for a punishing opening leg through prehistoric jungles.
From Borneo, the duos must navigate five checkpoints spread across three countries and two continents. The ultimate finish line sits at the sunbaked southern tip of Australia in Melbourne.
Important Context & What's Next
Studio Lambert’s Chief Creative Officer Tim Harcourt noted that the route highlights two stark extremes of the modern world, promising unfiltered and honest reactions from the celebrities as they face immense pressure.
BBC Factual Entertainment commissioning editor Jasmyn McGuile added that audiences have long requested a route stretching down to Australia, making this a major milestone for the franchise. The six-part series is scheduled to air on BBC One and BBC iPlayer this autumn.
