Swift Makes History and Honors a Legend
Taylor Swift cemented her legacy as a visual powerhouse, walking away with the Video of the Year award for The Fate of Ophelia. This historic win marks her record-breaking sixth time taking home the night’s most prestigious trophy.
In a deeply emotional acceptance speech, Swift dedicated the honor to the late country legend Dolly Parton. "Every single song that she wrote, her storytelling was so vivid and so rich," Swift said. "I think we were all very lucky to share this planet with Dolly Parton."
Earlier in the night, Swift received the first-ever Artist Director Honors, presented by Dakota Johnson, to celebrate her directing work. Swift also premiered her cinematic, haunting new music video for Patient Zero, which stars Johnson alongside Colin Farrell.

Nostalgia ran deep throughout the broadcast. Grunge icons Nirvana—represented by Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic, and Pat Smear—accepted the prestigious Video Vanguard Award. The band paid an emotional tribute to late frontman Kurt Cobain, with Novoselic praising Cobain's enduring legacy of raw authenticity.
