Samsung’s premium Ultra series has long been famous for its sharp, boxy aesthetic. But according to new industry leaks, the South Korean tech giant is planning a major ergonomic shift.
The upcoming Galaxy S27 Ultra is poised to ditch its rigid corners in favor of a much softer, more rounded design.
A Major Shift in Ergonomics
According to prominent leaker Ice Universe, who shared a 3D model conceptualized with AI, the Galaxy S27 Ultra will feature significantly smoother transitions and rounded edges, particularly at the bottom of the device.
While the Galaxy S23 Ultra and S24 Ultra featured strictly sharp frames, Samsung began softening the edges with the S25 Ultra and S26 Ultra. The S27 Ultra appears to be the culmination of this design evolution.

- No Case Needed? Users who prefer to use their phones without a protective case will benefit the most from this improved ergonomics.
Interestingly, the leaked sketches show a dedicated slot for the S-Pen, but no physical SIM card slot. This suggests Samsung could be preparing to transition the Galaxy S27 Ultra into an eSIM-only flagship in certain markets.
Galaxy Tab S12 Series Also Leaked
Alongside the S27 Ultra leaks, concrete specifications and pricing for Samsung’s upcoming premium tablets, the Galaxy Tab S12+ and Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, have also emerged.
Both tablets are expected to launch next month with upgraded performance and subtle hardware changes:
- Next-Gen Power: Both models will be powered by the faster MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chipset.
- Display Tweaks: The Tab S12+ screen grows slightly to 12.6 inches (up from 12.4 inches), while the S12 Ultra retains its massive 14.6-inch display.
- Battery and Storage: The Tab S12+ gets a battery boost to 10,600 mAh, while the Ultra model stays at 11,600 mAh. Both retain IP68 water resistance, up to 16GB RAM (Ultra only), and microSD card expansion.
Expected Pricing
Premium hardware comes with premium pricing. The Galaxy Tab S12+ is rumored to start at €1,299, while the top-tier Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra will start at €1,539.
